The Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) 2025 programme in Türkiye marked a major milestone with two key events held on 22–23 September in collaboration with Foodback and Anadolu Efes. Over two intensive days, the 15 women entrepreneurs selected for this year’s cohort took part in a Masterclass focused on entrepreneurship, strategy and leadership, followed by a Matchmaking event designed to foster connections with leading players in the agrifood sector.

Inspiring learning and practical insights at the Masterclass

The Masterclass opened with remarks by Tuğçe Ergün Cireli, Co-Founder of Foodback, and Tuba Gökcan, Director of Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Anadolu Efes, who highlighted the importance of supporting women-led innovation in food and agriculture.

The sessions that followed provided participants with both practical tools and inspiration for business growth. Highlights included:

  • “Women Entrepreneurship” by Dilara Koçak, Co-Founder of The Good Wild

  • “Market Research and Competitive Analysis for Entrepreneurs” by Derin Keskin, Fund Manager at Ardventure

  • Panel “Go-to-Market Strategy and Branding” with Nil Nurlu Deniz (Depodone) and Esra Özcan (Kombucha 2200)

  • “Financial Planning” workshop by Yusuf Şahin, Financial Advisor at Neura Accounting Tax Advisory

The Masterclass also offered participants the chance to connect with one another, share experiences and strengthen the sense of community within the Turkish EWA cohort.

Creating connections at the Matchmaking event

The next day, the EWA 2025 Matchmaking event brought the participants together with leading organisations in Türkiye’s agrifood ecosystem, providing opportunities to exchange ideas and explore collaborations.

Among the companies that joined were Anadolu Efes, Migros, Anadolu Etap, Uludağ İçecek, Alp Tarım, Yıldız Ventures, Anadolu Meraları, Farklabs and Plug & Play. The event facilitated one-on-one meetings between entrepreneurs and industry representatives, laying the groundwork for future partnerships and mentorship opportunities.

Empowering women-led innovation in Türkiye

Together, the Masterclass and Matchmaking events provided a comprehensive learning experience that blended business knowledge, inspiration and real-world connection. The initiative reflects EIT Food’s continued commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs to lead sustainable innovation in agrifood and create lasting impact.
