EIT talents can access new Innovation Internship opportunities through InnoNext

Following the positive experience of last year’s collaboration, EIT and InnoNext are once again opening the opportunity for EIT talents to activate Innovation Internships within the InnoNext community.

15 Oct 2026

Over the past two years, the InnoNext community has grown into a strong European network, bringing together more than 800 registered talents and over 300 hosting companies across different innovation fields and countries.

InnoNext connects high-potential researchers, innovators and talents with European startups, SMEs and research-driven companies through Innovation Internships designed to foster knowledge transfer, collaboration and real-world impact.

Thanks to this renewed collaboration, EIT talents can now activate a 3-month Innovation Internship with financial support of EUR 2,000 per month, gaining hands-on experience in innovative companies across Europe and contributing their skills to real innovation challenges.

Who can take part?

As a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) of EIT, EIT Food is welcoming learners, entrepreneurs and organisations supported through our programmes to apply for InnoNext.

Talents

InnoNext is open to different categories of EIT talents, including:

  • Students or graduates from EIT Label Master’s or Doctoral programmes
  • EIT Alumni members
  • Researchers from other postdoctoral training programmes funded by the EIT Community
  • Other KICs education programmes

Startups and SMEs

Eligible EIT companies may include:

  • Startups and SMEs supported by the EIT Community and its business creation services
  • Businesses founded with support from Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs)
  • Companies that have partnered with KICs for innovation activities
  • Startups or scaleups with at least one co-founder who is an EIT Alumni member

How InnoNext enhances impact

For talents, InnoNext offers the opportunity to apply knowledge and expertise to real-world business challenges, while gaining valuable entrepreneurial and professional experience. Through a 3-month Innovation Internship, EIT talents can expand their network, strengthen their skills and experience how innovation happens inside European startups, SMEs and research-driven companies.

For startups and SMEs, the programme provides access to highly skilled talents from Europe’s innovation ecosystem. Companies can host talents with no financial burden, benefit from fresh insights and specialised expertise, and strengthen their innovation capacity, product development or scale-up activities.

Through the InnoNext platform, companies and talents can create their profiles, explore opportunities and connect through a supported matchmaking process.
