EIT Food South celebrates it's 5th anniversary by awarding the innovation of startups and farmers
The 5th anniversary gala took place at the Vincci Hotel in Bilbao, where around 100 people between partners, startups and other key stakeholders of the agrifood industry met with the EIT Food team to conmemorate this date.
During the event, the team from EIT Food South wanted to recognise the effort of many key players that are changing the Agrifood industry. For that purpose the first ever CERES awards were given:
1. Best Marketed Innovation Award: remarkable products or services developed during or after participating in an EIT Food South project or programme.
Winner: microfy.ai.
2. Excellence in Growth Award: to recognise the progress startups have had since they participated in an EIT Food South project or programme. Two awards were given:
2.1. Employment Creator Award: startups that have significantly broadened their workforce.
Winner: Nucaps Nanotechnology.
2.2. Revenue Generator Awards: the capacity to highly increase their financial revenues.
Winner: Agricolus.
3. Fundraising Startup Award: startups which have attracted a remarkable amount of funds, from public or private sources.
Winner: Pydro.
4. Women in Agrifood Award: a specific award to female entrepreneurs who took part in an EIT Food South project or programme and have. Two awards were given:
4.1. Marketed Innovation Award: innovative products/services created or improved by women entrepreneurs.
Winner: Ekolive.
4.2. Female Founder Award: female-led startups consolidated since their participation in the EWA Programme.
Winner: Farmhood.
5.Growth Awards for Regenerative Farmers
- 1st prize Felix del Villar Igea.
- 2nd prize: (Casanova) Xevi Quirante.
- 3rd prize: (Poultree) José Luis García de Castro.
