EIT Food is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2025 EIT Food Accelerator Network Tech Validation Funding, granting €600,000 to accelerate breakthrough AgriFoodTech innovations. EIT Food is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

The Tech Validation Funding is more than a celebration of success; it recognises ambition, resilience, creativity, and the unstoppable spirit of entrepreneurship alive in every corner of the European agrifood system.

The 2025 Tech Validation Funding winners were revealed earlier this week at EIT Food’s flagship event, Next Bite, held in Brussels on 15-16 October 2025, a dynamic celebration of innovation, collaboration and the future of food.

This year, 18 startups across six EIT Food Accelerator Network Hubs will share a total of €600,000 in funding. Tickets of €20,000, €30,000 or €50,000 will help startups fast-track their tech validation to advance their technologies and strengthen their investment and market readiness.

The 2025 Tech Validation Funding winners are:

  • €50,000: Agreenet, APOLO Biotech, Chonova,  Ingrediome, LayerLogic, Trilliome
  • €30,000: Carbon Cell, Ferryx, HarvestR, Koppie, Silvibio, TierraSphere
  • €20,000: Agrisound, BioArmix, Biomyc, Elogium, Kyomei, PoLoPo

Why Tech Validation Matters

The journey from concept to market is filled with both opportunity and risk. The tech validation stage is where innovation meets reality.

According to Eurostat, nearly half of European startups struggle to survive their first five years, with product-market fit and cash flow among the top challenges.

Tech validation helps overcome many of these barriers by putting technologies to the test in real-world conditions, verifying market fit, scalability and technical reliability. This crucial phase turns vision into validated results, empowering founders to fine-tune solutions, secure pilot projects and investment, and set the stage for sustainable growth. With funding, expert guidance and access to cutting-edge facilities, EIT Food Accelerator Network tech validation transforms innovative products and services into market-ready solutions, laying the foundation for a thriving future in AgriFoodTech.

Empowering Startups for Success

The Tech Validation stage is a key milestone, enabling startups to validate their innovations, close technology gaps, and build clear growth roadmaps. Beyond strengthening products, it boosts investor confidence and unlocks new market opportunities.

Through the EIT Food Accelerator Network, the 2025 cohort gained expert mentorship, access to Europe’s leading research centres and pilot plants, exposure to 24 Corporate Programme Partners and strategic support for scaling and commercialisation.

“We are incredibly proud of this year’s cohort! Each startup has shown remarkable resilience, creativity, and determination, validating their technologies, refining their pitches, and shaping the future of food. With the support of our Hub leads, coaches, evaluators, Corporate Programme Partners, investors and jury members, these innovators are now one step closer to transforming the agrifood system.”,

- Yulia Bodnar, EIT Food Accelerator Network Programme Manager.

Since its launch, the programme has helped over 400 startups refine their strategies, validate technologies, attract significant investment and build global competitiveness. Congratulations to the 65 startups from the 2025 cohort, the 18 Tech Validation Funding recipients and our sincere thanks to the partners and experts who made their success possible. Together, we are advancing a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient food system.
