Communication Skills Course Launch for EWA Programme Participants
Last week, as part of the EWA programme, EIT Food, in collaboration with the Inicijativa organization, launched a comprehensive Communication Skills course for EWA participants from 12 countries. Now in its third edition, the course focuses on equipping mentees with essential and advanced communication skills to support their professional growth and success.
Why This Course Matters
Annual evaluations of the EWA programme have identified English language barrier as a key factor preventing participants from applying to other EIT Food programmes. In response to this, EIT Food, in collaboration with Inicijativa organization, have developed and enhanced this Communication Skills course to improve participants' business communication skills, helping to boost their confidence and effectiveness in international and professional contexts.
Course Overview
The course includes four modules, covering topics such as Business Communication Mastery, Marketing and Branding, Leadership and Personal Branding, Financial Literacy, and Investor Pitching. The aim is to provide mentees with practical skills that improve their effectiveness in communication, active listening, and teamwork.
The first Business Communication Mastery module focused on clear communication through hands-on exercises, including writing effective emails and reports, as well as improving skills for personal introductions. Participants took part in role-playing activities to practice Active Listening and Empathy techniques. They also learned how to create Impactful Presentations, emphasizing structure and the use of visual aids. Additionally, the course included strategies for Team Collaboration and effective Small Talk, offering a comprehensive approach to enhancing communication skills in professional environments.
