Begoña Pérez Villarreal selected as one of the top 10 Women in the Agrifood Sector for 2024
EIT Food South Director has been recognised in this new category, which its aim is to promote the visibility of women's leadership in the agrifood sector.
The agrifood sector is one of the pillars of the global economy, but women are still underrepresented in it. According to the FAO, only 13% of agricultural landowners in the world are women, and only 5% of leadership positions in the agrifood sector are held by women, therefore the importance of highlighting the leadership of women who have decided to become leaders in the agrifood sector.
The INTEC Foundation, organizer of the Smart Agrifood Summit, aims to contribute to increasing the participation of women in the agrifood sector and to promote the visibility of women's leadership.
Begoña Pérez Villarreal, EIT Food South Director has been selected along with 9 other remarkable women who bring great value to the agrifood sector through their commitment.
The Top 10 Women Agrifood for 2024, is an initiative that aims to give recognition to those women highlighting female leadership in this strategic sector of the European economy in the agrifood chain.
