Anuga HORIZON and EIT Food enter strategic partnership

Anuga HORIZON and EIT Food are engaging in a long-term, strategic partnership to ensure a future-fit food system by promoting innovative ideas and new developments in the food industry, as well as encouraging sustainability.

An evolution of the leading trade fair Anuga, Anuga HORIZON provides a new event format to engage the whole food community. Anuga HORIZON exclusively focuses on the central future themes of the industry and offers scope for specialised content, active contribution and a mutual knowledge exchange in both interactive sessions and an extensive conference programme. This first Anuga HORIZON is being held at Koelnmesse fair grounds from 6 to 8 September 2022.

EIT Food is the world’s largest and most dynamic food innovation community, and is accelerating innovation to make the food system more sustainable, healthy and trusted. This involves creating connections right across the food system that stimulate new ideas and invention to drive change: between startups and corporates; between entrepreneurs and investors; between consumers and industry; between research and action; between ideas and reality; between present and future. ​The EIT Food community includes key industry partners, startups, research centres and universities from all across Europe. It is one of eight innovation communities that were founded by the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), an independent EU body that was established in 2008 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship throughout Europe.

As part of the partnership, Anuga HORIZON and EIT Food will be working together to deliver:

• Specialised content and knowledge transfer
• Joint collaboration to develop the conference and event programme of Anuga HORIZON including panel discussions, workshops and speakers as well as the integration of existing EIT events into Anuga HORIZON
• Establishment of an EIT Food marketplace for start-ups, which will showcase solutions to key themes of Anuga HORIZON, such as circular food systems, alternative proteins, New Nutrition, and the digital traceability of supply chains and products.
• Joint press events prior to, and during, Anuga HORIZON.
