SwissDeCode, University of Geneva
swiTT (Swiss Technology Transfer Association) has supported the spin-off company SwissDeCode, which was founded in 2016 as a spin-off from the University of Geneva. SwissDeCode developed a point-of-need test kit named DNAFoil® that enables food factory staff to screen raw materials and finished products for undeclared ingredients and contaminations within 30 minutes. This innovation addresses the challenge of detecting specific DNA barcodes, such as pork or horse meat, in food products, which is crucial for consumer safety and compliance.
