Workshop: Zero-Waste Factory

Join a full-day creative workshop where you’ll experience what it’s like to be part of a team designing solutions for tomorrow. Together, you’ll dive into the world of sustainable production and the circular economy – focusing on the challenge of creating a zero-waste pet food factory.

Your task won’t be to solve technical details, but to imagine bold ideas for how a production facility can operate with zero environmental impact.

The workshop is built around teamwork, creativity, and smart time management. You’ll receive guidance and feedback from an experienced coach and take part in discussions with VAFO experts, the company leading the workshop.

Workshop Agenda: Zero-Waste Pet Food Factory

09:00 – 09:10 | Welcome & Introduction

Opening remarks, agenda overview, and expectations (UCT Prague).

09:10 – 09:45 | Company Introduction & Brief

Introduction of VAFO and the pet food industry: production processes, key inputs and outputs, and sustainability challenges (VAFO).

09:45 – 10:00 | Problem Statement & Team Formation

Presentation of the challenge and distribution of assignments (UCT Prague + VAFO).

10:00 – 12:00 | Work Session I

Team brainstorming and validation of ideas with VAFO consultants.

12:00 – 12:30 | Lunch Break

12:30 – 12:45 | Defining Expected Outcomes

Clarifying objectives and expected results of team work (VAFO).

12:45 – 14:15 | Work Session II

Further development of solutions and preparation of team pitches, with support from VAFO consultants.

14:30 – 15:30 | Team Presentations

Each team presents its proposed solution (5 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A).

15:45 – 17:00 | Jury Feedback & Reflection

Expert panel (UCT Prague coaches + VAFO specialists) provides feedback, moderated group reflection, and announcement of results.

17:00 – 17:30 | Closing & Evaluation

Summary of the day, completion of feedback forms, and transition to networking (UCT Prague + VAFO).

17:30 – 19:00 | Networking

Informal networking session with students, opportunity to connect with VAFO representatives and explore potential collaboration.
