South Summit held in Madrid, is the leading Innovation Global Platform that connects top innovators from Southern Europe and Latin America to the world´s most powerful investors, and corporations.

South Summit is your opportunity to meet other startups disrupting our current systems.  It is also an opportunity to connect with investors, get new ideas, and be inspired! Last year, more than 3,500 projects were presented, 47% of Spanish origin and 53% of international origin. More than 650 investors gathered where Startups from previous editions have raised +1.5 billion dollars with success stories such as Cabify, Typeform, Drivy, Glovo, and Spotahome. 

How did South Summit begin?

In 2012 Spain Startup, together with IE Business School, saw opportunities for entrepreneurs at a time when the crisis had hit hard. They believed that entrepreneurs would be the driving force to a revived economy. With this belief, Spain Startup created a platform to help showcase the best startup talent and creativity from the South to the rest of the world, where handshakes and introductions are quickly transformed into deals on the table.

Organising your travel and getting there

EIT Food has purchased your passes, and you will need to organise your travel to Madrid either from your city of origin, or from BIlbao. There are regular daily flights from Madrid to Bilbao, and there is also a high speed train, that takes 5 hours from Bilbao central station. 

Please organise your own hotel stay in Madrid. We plan to visit the show on Wednesday 2nd October, and return to Bilbao on Wednesday evening. We recommend that you book your stay for Tuesday night in Madrid.  On Thursday there will be an event in Bilbao organised by EIT Food South.
