Specific objective:
Understand the relationship between soil health/animal welfare and production quality/productivity.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the key concepts of holistic livestock management.

  • Understand how regenerative grazing improves soil health, pasture productivity, and animal welfare.

  • Understand the link between soil health and pasture nutritional quality.

  • Learn how to manage a system in transition.

Specific objective:
Introduce participants to different regenerative grazing techniques and how to implement them.

Learning outcomes:

  • Learn about different regenerative grazing techniques (e.g., PRV, strip grazing) and when to apply each based on context.

  • Understand the importance of livestock watering points in the design of regenerative pastures and explore innovative solutions.

13:30 – 14:30 | Group Practical Exercise
Specific objective:

14:30 – 17:00 | Lunch break and travel to the farm

17:00 – 20:00 | Farm Visit: Applying Regenerative Grazing with a Sheep Flock in a Mediterranean Climate
Specific objective:
Understand regenerative grazing through a field visit.

Learning outcomes:

  • Observe the practical implementation of a pasture rotation system.

  • Analyze the long-term sustainability benefits of rotational grazing for farms.
