The DairySust project is a EIT-Food Project based on a highly interdisciplinary approach including Computer Science, Big Data analytics, Animal Science, and Biosystems Engineering. The aim of the DairySust project is to improve sustainability, animal welfare and productivity in dairy farming through the use of advanced data analytics.
Livestock farms routinely produce and monitor data relating to environmental conditions, animal behaviour, and production parameters. Similarly, milk quality reports at dairies and labs are often logged for long-term analysis. This project brings all this information together by developing a data-driven platform which integrates and harmonises the different data types, to help the stakeholders in the dairy farming sector to improve their decision-making processes relating to sustainability, animal welfare and productivity.
In the first part of the workshop, the project partners will summarize the results of the project, with particular reference to the heat stress, milk quality, fertility, and environmental control modules, software development, and stakeholders’ engagement through the co-creation process.
Then all the participants will be able to take active part in the Q&A and discussion sessions.
