EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025: Beyond the Pea

Peas are more than just a source of protein — they are a goldmine of untapped potential. Yet, valuable side-streams from pea processing often go underused, missing the chance to create new markets, products, and sustainable solutions.

From 16 to 25 September 2025, the EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025 – Beyond the Pea will bring together innovators, students, and entrepreneurs to co-create sustainable and practical solutions based on this untapped potential. Organised by the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) as the EIT FoodHub Latvia, in collaboration with BirgerMind and ASNS Ingredient, the programme combines online mentoring, teamwork, and expert-led masterclasses on design thinking, prototyping, and pitching. The journey culminates on 25 September at Jelgava Palace with the Final Pitch & Awards, where teams present their solutions, receive expert feedback, and compete for prizes. Applications are open until 11 September 2025.
