NEW ERA FOOD is developing an innovative deep-tech technology that increases the protein content of natural mushroom fruiting bodies while simultaneously creating a fibrous, meat-like texture with an intense umami flavor. This technology forms the basis for a new generation of natural, nutrient-rich meat alternatives.
Under the consumer brand JUSTAKE, we are bringing clean-label products to market that stand out through authentic taste, juiciness, and a convincing texture. Our first product, a mushroom-based steak, combines a rich umami flavor with a meat-like appearance and a balanced nutritional profile, including a high protein content. In the future, additional product categories and innovative foods are to be launched by applying our technology in combination with mushroom fruiting bodies.
What motivated you to build a startup in this sector?
Observing the current landscape of meat alternatives, it became strikingly clear that a crucial element was missing: a truly delicious, nutritious, and minimally processed option that genuinely satisfies like traditional meat. We weren't content with compromises. Our motivation in founding JUSTAKE stems from a powerful vision: to bridge this gap with our exceptional mushroom-based steak. We believe everyone deserves access to a diverse range of culinary experiences, and we are driven to revolutionize the meat alternative market by offering a product that doesn't just substitute, but truly delights and nourishes.
