About your innovation

Greenhouses inject fossil CO2 to boost crop yields. fortyfour develops an innovative Direct Air Capture technology to capture CO2 directly from the air, replacing fossil sources and enabling greenhouses to become sustainable and self-sufficient.

What motivated you to build a startup in this sector?

We founded fortyfour because we want to use technology to address environmental shortcomings. Our food system is the foundation of human existence and we profoundly believe that we must evolve it to meet humanity's needs without compromising our planet's future. What drives us is creating a system where sustainability and profitability naturally align, where doing right by the planet becomes the obvious business choice. From doing research on sustainable entrepreneurship and carbon capture, we are passionate about bridging this gap and having a fundamental impact without hurting affordability.
