What motivated you to build a startup in this sector?

We were motivated by the urgent need to replace fossil-based plastics in the food industry with truly sustainable, circular alternatives. With BioFlocean, we saw the opportunity to turn waste and CO2 into high-value, algae-based bioplastics that are safe for food contact and aligned with global sustainability goals. Our passion lies in building climate-positive solutions that enable the food sector to meet regulatory demands while protecting both people and the planet.
