Zoetis joins the EIT Food Community

EIT Food is delighted to announce that Zoetis, the world’s leading animal health company, has joined EIT Food as a core partner.

The collaboration will help to accelerate collective progress in precision livestock farming and in particular develop the next generation of impactful animal health solutions together with EIT Food’s wider consortium of key industry players, academia and research and agrifood startups from across Europe.

Zoetis is the leading animal health company that discovers, develops, manufacturers and commercializes medicines, vaccines and diagnostic products, which are complemented by biodevices, genetic tests and precision livestock farming. Informed by over 65 years of experience in the animal health industry, Zoetis serves veterinarians, livestock producers and people who raise and care for farm and companion animals in over 100 countries. In 2019, the company generated annual revenue of $6.3 billion.

EIT Food’s desire to build an inclusive and innovative community where the consumer is actively involved is also something Zoetis is actively striving towards. Zoetis aligns with EIT Food’s sustainable agriculture focus area by supporting agricultural development programs that bring education in animal husbandry, as well as increased access to veterinary care to farmers, helping them increase productivity and move from subsistence to sustainability.

Joining the EIT Food network presents an exciting opportunity for Zoetis’s livestock health teams and experts to enhance the solutions provided to customers across the continuum of care with performance livestock analytics’ innovative digital platform and data analytics expertise. Working more closely with the EIT Food network will also accelerate collective progress in precision livestock farming with additional capabilities to help customers improve the health of their animals and the sustainability of their operations.

As a member of the EIT Food, Zoetis will work alongside the network’s complementary companies, academia and agri-food startups and together develop the next generation of animal health impactful solutions to help farmers and veterinarians produce a safe, affordable and sustainable supply of animal protein despite finite natural resources and other constraints. This includes enhancing farmers’ capacity to meet the growing worldwide demand for meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy foods. They are eager to share their experiences and materials related to EIT Food’s objectives in food system transformation and support the prestige of the network at the highest level worldwide.
