As EIT Food we believe that we are all responsible for, and connected to, the food that we eat so we all need to work together to improve it. Our role is to bring all players together and guide and accelerate the innovation process that will transform the food system.
This call is part of EIT Food's efforts to target low consumer trust and transparency in the food system (EIT food's first strategic objective). We are looking for ideas on how to engage with consumer and citizens and more importantly, make them become active agents of change in the food system.
To complement our current portfolio, all ideas submitted in this call should fall within one of the below themes (in line with the EIT Food impact indicators and Focus Areas):
- THEME 1 - Improving societal health to reduce childhood obesity
- THEME 2 - Improving societal health to reduce the prevalence of NCDs
- THEME 3 - Sustainability in the food chain to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
EIT Food ecosystem
EIT Food is - above all else - a network, and our excellence comes from our Partners. The initiative is made up of a consortium of key industry players (multinationals, nationals and SMEs), agrifood startups, research centres and universities from across Europe.
People are key in the work of EIT Food and we aim to actively promote and support a shift in engagement from people as passive recipients, to people as change agents. In the area of public engagement, we are now calling for Proof of Concepts for Societal Potential which can shape our future project portfolio.
Please find full details of this call to be downloaded below.
This call is open to partners and non-partners of EIT Food. As a non-partner you will need to find an EIT Food partner to cooperate with and to take on the role of activity leader (see our partners list). The activity leader is the legal entity identified as the leader of the consortium and acting as the intermediary between the consortium Partners and the EIT Food.
You have a good idea but you are not (yet) a partner of EIT Food? This is how you can get involved.
Reach out to us at PoC@eitfood.eu. Send a short summary of your idea and, if relevant, we will give you access to our ideation platform where you can meet, discuss and shape concepts further with other parties (partners and non-partners of EIT Food).
