Kerry Group joins the EIT Food Community

Kerry Group becomes the latest organisation to join the EIT Food Community as network partner. As the global leader in the development of taste and nutrition solutions, Kerry Group will work together with EIT Food’s pan-European Network to create healthier and more sustainable food and beverage solutions to consumers and citizens across Europe and beyond.

Kerry Group is the global leader in the development of taste and nutrition solutions for the food and beverage and pharmaceutical markets and a leader in its categories in the UK & Ireland consumer goods chilled cabinet category. Their purpose to “inspire food and nourish life” through innovation involves co-creating healthy, tasty and high performing consumer focused solutions with customers and partners in the food and beverage industry. This purpose aligns with EIT Food’s targeted nutrition focus area and wider mission to improve the health and sustainability of consumer and citizen diets across Europe and beyond.

EIT Food’s aim to create a more innovative and entrepreneurial food sector aligns with Kerry’s passion for innovation in an industry where collaboration fosters innovation and entrepreneurialism. EIT Food provides an excellent forum for collaboration between established key industry players and emergent startups and SME’s along with research and academia. This unique and diverse community will enable Kerry to promote, enhance and share ideas on the future of sustainable, nutritious and great tasting food and create invaluable partnerships that will help bring innovations in this area to life. With Kerry Group joining the EIT Food Community, the future of food system transformation becomes even more exciting as their approach to impact complements EIT Food’s own approach.

In particular, Kerry will bring their development and applications, manufacturing and market insight expertise to the community. They are hoping to collaborate with the EIT Food community to develop and enhance ideas that advance the sustainability of the food and beverage industry in line with consumer expectations. This includes adding value to the safety and quality of food and beverage goods to help nourish the lives of millions of people across the globe.

Karl O’Donovan, Global Research, Development and Application Director when joining said:

“Kerry are excited to be part of EIT food. We see innovation as critical to the development of a sustainable and trusted food system. The collaboration opportunities that EIT Food provide will help enable the development of nutritious, great tasting sustainable foods and help drive the changes required for the future of the food and beverage industry”

Andrew Carlin, Director of Strategic Programmes and Director of EIT Food’s North-West Co-Location centre said:

“EIT Food has built Europe’s leading agrifood innovation network and welcomes Kerry Group as a member with a shared passion and commitment to driving change. Our mission to build a trusted agrifood system that meets the needs of consumers is well aligned with Kerry Group’s innovation vision.”
