EWA Programme 2025 in Romania Launches with Ten Promising Women Agrifood Entrepreneurs
The Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) programme, launched by EIT Food and implemented in Romania by Impact Hub Bucharest, is back for its 2025 edition. Designed to support early-stage women entrepreneurs in the agrifood sector, the programme offers a six-month journey filled with personalised mentoring, hands-on training, and community building.
On 19 June, the 2025 edition of the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) programme was officially launched in Romania with a Matchmaking event that brought together the selected participants and their mentors. The event was organised by EIT Food and Impact Hub Bucharest, who oversee the local implementation of the programme. The Matchmaking Event marked an important step forward for the EWA Romania 2025 programme, bringing mentors and mentees together for their first in-person meeting.
The day began with a welcome session and programme introduction, offering an overview of the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) programme, the mission of EIT Food, and the key role mentors play in the development of the selected entrepreneurs. This was followed by the mentees’ presentations, where each of the ten women entrepreneurs had three minutes to pitch their business ideas. Following the presentations, mentors and mentees participated in rotation sessions, engaging in focused one-on-one conversations lasting 10 minutes each.
A training session on intellectual property, led by legal experts from DLA Piper, provided valuable insight into essential IP topics such as copyrights, trademarks, designs, patents, and utility models. The session also addressed modern challenges around licensing rights, AI-generated content, and the protection of confidential information.
