Edilm replaces plastic sachets in instant noodles with an edible, meltable film, eliminating both packaging and food waste and offering brands a sustainable solution that resonates with environmentally conscious consumers. Additionally, other applications are currently under research.
What motivated you to build a startup in this sector?
We were driven by the urgent need to address the plastic waste crisis, particularly in areas that often go unnoticed, such as seasoning sachets in instant noodles. These tiny packets add up to a massive environmental problem. We saw an opportunity to innovate where it matters: in everyday products consumed globally and at scale. Our passion lies in combining food science and sustainability to create simple, elegant solutions that can eliminate waste without changing user habits. We believe true impact comes from solving small problems with huge footprints, and doing it in a way that's good for people and the planet.
