Armenian agriculture

Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the Armenian economy. Armenia’s exports are concentrated on food and beverages (canned and fresh food, brandy). A central component of the Armenian agricultural sector is livestock breeding.

Room for Improvement

Farm structure in Armenia is dominated by a large number of small-scale farms with fragmented land holdings. Therefore, it is essential to facilitate constant innovation to foster internationalization and competitiveness.

For Armenians the pomegranate is one of the most recognizable symbols of the country. In Armenian mythology it symbolizes fertility and good fortune.
