Adaptation Finance and Multilateral Development Banks: Building Climate Resilience in the Horn of Africa
The event will focus on discussing a new report released by the Breakthrough Institute that reveals a major misallocation of climate finance by the World Bank and other multilateral development banks, finding that climate adaptation is significantly underfunded relative to climate mitigation. Looking across all MDBs, 37 percent of $60.9 billion spent on climate finance in low- and middle-income countries in 2022 went to adaptation, while 63 percent went to mitigation. The study calls for an urgent realignment of funding from multilateral development banks, including the World Bank, to stop underfunding climate adaptation and help vulnerable nations build resilience to climate impacts while pursuing sustainable development.
The session will bring together representatives from Government, non state actors and private sector and will be largely interactive to elicit further conversations that help with strengthening arguments for realigning MDB climate finance strategies to address gaps and support the most vulnerable nations effectively

N2O Hub: Driving Global Action On Nitrous Oxide
The time has come for the international community to act on nitrous oxide (N2O), a highly potent greenhouse gas that, until recently, has mostly been left out of climate policy discussions. This event serves to introduce the Global N2O Hub, a Climate Advisers initiative that aims to raise awareness of and drive international action on this largely forgotten greenhouse gas.
The Global Nitrous Oxide Assessment, recently published by the UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition, lays the scientific groundwork for raising climate action on N2O to help achieve the targets of the Paris Agreement, just as the Global Methane Assessment did for methane.
Speakers will present the findings of the N2O Assessment regarding mitigation opportunities and co-benefits for health and sustainable development and discuss the path forward for the international community.

Storytelling for change: Building regenerative cultures from the inside out
This session features diverse female voices from the Global South and the Southeast United States who are actively implementing contemplative and indigenous community-building practices and regenerative lifestyle, agriculture, and conscious food systems towards greater personal, community and planetary well-being. The session is grounded in the theory that nurturing "inner capacities," connection to Nature and peace has a transformative impact on how we relate to ecosystems, and leads to a more regenerative, whole systems mindset. The session includes experiential practice in mindfulness for regeneration, indigenous practices and a restorative storytelling circle to provide attendees with opportunities to reflect and share their experiences of regenerative mindsets.
