Action On Food Hub’s Policy Recommendation for COP30

At COP30, we are calling on governments, the private sector and civil society to take urgent, inclusive and collaborative #ActionOnFood.

We must scale finance, shift to implementation and prioritise a just transition by supporting and championing solutions from farmers, youth, Indigenous Peoples and local communities. The Action on Food community is calling on policy and decision makers to:

Scale finance: We must scale-up and re-orientate innovative financing structures and sources to incentivise food systems transformation, while eliminating finance barriers for small-scale farmers, youth, Indigenous Peoples and local communities.

Strengthen global targets and implementation: We need to strengthen global targets and implementation by embedding food systems across NDCs, biodiversity strategies and adaptation plans - making them central to climate adaptation, mitigation and long-term resilience.

Support smallholder farmers, youth, Indigenous Peoples and local communities: We must actively support these groups as vital solution-holders and as current and future knowledge bearers in policy and decision-making forums.

Spotlight food systems at COP30: We must champion this year’s Action Agenda and realise the potential of action on food to generate climate solutions that are adaptive, equitable and restorative for people and the planet.
