This interactive session will highlight the vital link between protein diversification and regenerative agriculture in building a sustainable and resilient food system in Europe. Following the release of the EIT Food Protein Diversification Think Tank discussion paper, we are bringing the conversation to life in this interactive session co-organized by the EIT Food Protein Diversification Think Tank and the EIT Food GROW project.
Participants will:
- Gain key insights from the Protein Diversification Think Tank’s discussion paper on farming and protein diversification landscape analysis.
- Learn about GROW project’s educational activities on regenerative agriculture.
- Hear expert insights
- Engage in discussions on how the triad of protein diversification, regenerative agriculture and carbon farming can enhance European food security, resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability.
- Explore the mutual benefits, existing gaps, and barriers, as well as potential solutions such as funding mechanisms (carbon farming, payment for biodiversity and other ecosystem services), new business models, and consumer acceptance.
