EIT Food Entrepreneurship Prize (Innovation Grants Scheme) supported by Forward Fooding

Do you have an idea that could transform the food and agriculture sector? Apply for an Entrepreneurship Prize, presented by EIT Food Business Creation Innovation Grant Scheme, and receive €10,000 of equity-free funding.

EIT Food is on a mission to transform Europe’s food system – making it better for people and the planet.  Working with entrepreneurs, innovators and the wider community, EIT Food is changing the way we produce, process, distribute and consume food.  The Entrepreneur Prize rewards aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage, pre-revenue start-ups who have a revolutionary new business idea, product or service that can help EIT food in its mission.

There are three €10,000 Entrepreneurship Prizes available to any resident, citizen or legal entity based in Europe or EIT Food associated countries. Those who have applied for the 2018 RIS Innovation Grants and are eligible will be considered ineligible for the Entrepreneurship Prizes.

There are three stages to the Entrepreneurship Prize application process:

1. Submit Idea on F6S – apply here

Interested candidates must submit an application through F6S. The online application includes questions designed to verify your business model credibility, your understanding of the problem you are trying to tackle, and the quality of your business solution.  Applicants will also be asked how they will spend the Entrepreneurship Prize and how it will help transform the agri-food sector, particularly in Europe.

Dates: 6th October 2018 – 9th November 2018

2. Application review 

Your application will be scored by a panel composed of both EIT Food and external members. The eight eligible applications with the highest scores will be invited to pitch at an evening event in central London. Prior to the pitch event, EIT Food will provide support to the selected individuals, teams, start-ups to help them refine and improve their pitch presentation.

Dates:   12th-16th November 2018, shortlisted candidates announced by 17th November 2018

3. EIT Food Entrepreneurship Prize Pitch Day

Selected applicants will present their idea in a 6 min pitch presentation followed by 5-10 min Q&A in front of a selected panel of subject matter experts and invited audience members. Please ensure that you can attend the Pitch Day in London before you submit your application.
