We are seeking for business creation coaches, experts and advisors to support the EIT Food's Investment portfolio

Because launching a start-up and growing it involves big challenges and the guidance of an experienced coach, expert, advisor or the support of professionals with the relevant expertise in the is key to overcome the obstacles that will appear along the way.

With the purpose of strengthen the investment team and further advance the access 2 finance (A2F) activities of EIT Food, we are also constantly seeking for profiles with experience in managing the whole investment cycle from scouting to due diligence to completing transactions and supporting the EIT FOOD

What type of skills are we looking for?

We are interested in a wide range of skill sets and expertise, because we support start-ups at different stages of development: pre-seed, early stage and growth.
Proven experience or affinity for technology startups, is always a required asset. In addition, previous experience as board observer in Ag/Food tech companies, investment in biotech/Foodtech companies and portfolio management will be highly valuable.

Our pool of will gather coaches, experts and advisors, who will contribute to EIT Food activities in the following areas:

Technical and Financial support

In the scope of the selected coaches, experts and advisors will support the Investment
Team and our start-ups in the following topics:

o Perform
due diligence on candidates for financial support, including on technology, strategy, commercial aspects, and financials;

o Support in the successful completion of financial support transactions to start-ups including the negotiation of term sheets and drafting of transaction documentation;

o Actively support portfolio companies in matters such as partnerships and fundraising;

o Capacity to be able to integrate and create synergies between our investment portfolio and EIT Food venture programmes;


Aspects of EIT Food investment strategy and management of our investment portfolio.

o Be able to contribute into the EIT Food Investment strategy and support into the interpretation of law or legal positions at internal meetings;

o Ensure the proper interpretation and implementation of all legislation applicable to our investment mechanisms (SAFE, RBF);

Board Observer

As part of its role as shareholder in some of our startups, EIT Food is entitled to have presence of board observer, which will oversee the evolution and support that the company needs while scaling up.

o Serving and representing EIT FOOD on the board (acting as observer) on selected portfolio companies.

o Be part of our Advisory Committee helping in assessing and selecting the best investment opportunities across our EIT FOOD flagship programs (Seedbed, FAN, RFS).

Being part of the pool of, coaches, experts and advisors of the Investment Team, will give you access to a network of more than 50 partners and our broad ecosystem of corporates, universities and start-ups. In addition, you will have the chance to work with high-potential startups that are developing unique
innovations in the field of FoodTech/AgTech.

How does it work?

Our call is open continuously, there is no deadline. Once you submit your application*, we will check if your profile matches our needs and get back to
you within four weeks.

If it is positive, you will automatically enter our pool of coaches, experts and advisors. Whenever one of our start-ups and/or our Investment Team has a need that requires of your support in any of our activities and areas, our team will select among the pool the coaches, experts or advisors with the most appropriate expertise, availability and is more suited to help us with our actual needs.

Business Creation coaches, experts and advisors work on an assignment basis, however alternative arrangements could be agreed (short term engagement, part time) all depending on the actual needs of the Investment Team and the availability and suitability of the applicants. Applying as a coach means that you have availability to get involved with us (the minimum requirement is 1-2 hours per week, but some missions can be longer (1-month) or more intensive (2-3 weeks for a defined period). It also implies that you can invoice us for your services.
