Results of the call for RIS Policy Council members

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the members of the EIT Food RIS Policy Council for 2021-2022 have been selected.

Applications were invited from individuals from the 17 EIT RIS countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey.  Altogether, 39 applications were received from experts representing 17 countries and all sides of the Knowledge Triangle: Academia, Research, Industry and governmental institutions. 

The inauguration meeting of the EIT Food RIS Policy Council 

The inauguration meeting of the EIT Food RIS Policy Council took place on the 6th of October to define the work plan for 2021-2022.  

In 2021, the Council will be discussing to the most pressing challenges in the agri-food sector happening at the regional level, working in three thematic groups:  

  • sustainability and digital traceability in agriculture   
  • sustainable agriculture and targeted nutrition   
  • sustainable agriculture and circular food systems   

We are very happy to welcome our experts who will support the aliment of the RIS portfolio with smart specialisation strategies in terms to create impact in the region. 

About RIS Policy Council 

The RIS Policy Council is a policy advisory body established in 2019 to support dialogue and other interactions in EIT RIS countries, contribute towards the further elaboration of EIT Food instruments and projects, as well as promote linkages with government authorities and other stakeholders.  

The Council consist of representatives of Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.  Members of the Council comes from Academia, Research, Industry and governmental and will support EIT Food in policy dialogue and other interactions in the target countries, intending to synchronise the development of EIT Food portfolio with national or regional Smart Specialisation Strategies of the targeted EIT RIS countries.
