
On October 31 an EIT Food Awareness Day was held at the Portuguese Industries Association. The event was addressed to circular economy startups and it seeked to boost innovation.
To achieve this, the participants talked about sustainability, finance and entrepreneurship. The event was opened by José Paiva, CEO at Landing Jobs, who offered a talk on how to attract and keep the best talent. After having a network lunch the assistants had the opportunity to know how to establish your sales funnel, conversion rates, pilots and sales cycle, explained by José Sá, National Team Sales Manager at Vodafone. Ana Casaca, Director of Digital Transformation at Worten, Eunice Cost, Director at New Business Acceleration at Delta Cafés and João Leite, Director of Innovation and Business Intelligence at Pestana Hotel Group, reflected on what corporates want while negotiating on a roundtable discussion moderated by António Fradique, CEO at FuelSave.
Finally, Sofia Fernandes, Head of Marketing and Projects at BGI, EIT Food Hub in Portugal, presented the work of EIT Food; aiming to transmit the importance of creating a path towards circular economy through innovation with the support of EIT Food.
The event was attended by 25 Circular Economy startups supported by the Portuguese Environment and Climate Action Ministry: GoParity, Genviot, Builtrix, Givaware, Terraguar, Shimejito, Seaweet, Babu Eco, SEAentia, SCUBIC, Portugal Bugs, Spawnfoam, Eco2blocks, AgroGrIN Tech, AgriStarBio, EPCircle, Pepe Aromas, Aquaponics Iberia, United Boutiques, Mercado de Resíduos, Fair Meals, AguaPlus, The Equal Food, Ecowm and EASProjects. They enjoyed the opportunity to network and get to know entrepreneurial programs for circular economy startups.
