Fifty students and graduates with different educational backgrounds from EIT RIS countries are discovering new, worthwhile job opportunities in the food industry, by getting unique, professional, paid three-to-six month internships within the framework of the EIT Food RIS Fellowships project. These two programmes aim at enhancing the innovativeness of personnel in the agri-food industry. Furthermore, the internships offered are based on the candidate’s profile and the ongoing activities of the hosting company.
During this experience, the 35 selected candidates from the RIS Fellowship programme will reveal their talents in the agri-food sector through gaining hands-on experiences and strengthening their job-related skills, including analytical thinking and creative problem solving; while 15 PhD students and post-docs participating under the RIS Talents programme will be involved in innovation and R&D projects of EIT Food within EIT Food partner organizations.
In particular, these programmes account for 24 participants from Southern Europe; 16 in the Fellowship project and 8 in the Talent scheme. Partakers benefit from a job experience within the agrifood industry, in a foreign country, where they can, not only assimilate a new culture, but also learn a different way of working within the sector's leading companies.
