Consumer Engagement Labs are pre-competitive co-creation sessions carried out by a relatively coherent group of consumers (selected based on specific segmentation criteria) in a joint, physical place and limited in time, focused on ideation/development of new product concepts.

The finalists were invited to compete for three awards, consisting of an equity-free cash prize of € 60,000 each. Leuven, 05 October 2018 – The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) rewarded Europe’s top innovators in the fields of energy, health and food. EIT Food’s partner Isabel Hoffmann, founder and CEO of Tellspec, won the EU woman innovation award for her work in the development of a rapid, portable and affordable sensor to test for the quality and decay of raw white fish, and the fraudulent use of excess water in frozen fish. Hosted by Koppert, the conference encouraged the partners of EIT Food, a pan-EU consortium that focuses on the food sector, to work together to introduce and speed up the urgent changes needed in food production.
EIT Food’s CEO calls for stronger R&I in food
Speaking at the Bulgarian EU Presidency’s conference “Research & Innovation for Food and Nutrition Security: Transforming our Food Systems”, EIT Food’s CEO Filip Fontaine called on the EU and its Member States to show strong commitment to research and innovation in the agri-food sector in the next EU long-term budget, covering the 2021-2027 period. EIT Food has announced today that Mrs Margaret Bath will step down from her role as CEO due to changes in her personal circumstances. To ensure continuity of leadership and to secure an effective intermediate process, Mr Filip Fontaine will join EIT Food full-time in the role of interim CEO as of June 01 2018.
