Based in The Netherlands, Thomas Houwers is the Co-Founder and CEO of Farm21. Thomas holds a master’s degree in User-Centred Product Design and has experience working with startups in low and middle-income countries. Farm 21 aims to bring farming into the 21st century. Their platform helps farmers to improve their crop yield by accurately measuring local soil data with sensors. Their mission is to enable growers to farm with pinpoint-accuracy and accelerate the transition to sustainable agriculture that is needed to feed the world and protect our planet.
By making localised decisions about insects, fungi, water and cultivation, Farm21 enables farmers to plan resource use with pinpoint accuracy and increase crop yield. This aims to not only save cost, but also protect the environment by avoiding the overuse of chemical products and fertilisers.
