Addressing environmental risk in agriculture using satellite imagery

24 Oct 2022

Sushma is the Co-Founder of Deep Planet and brings 15 years of experience in innovation and technology to the role. The goal of Deep Planet is to help agricultural businesses, supply chain companies and growers to gain new and unbiased insights from satellite data while supporting sustainability in their operations.

Deep Planet aims to catalogue, track and forecast the world's agricultural production. Their predictive crop analytic platform combines machine learning, satellite imagery, and agricultural data to help supply chain companies and farmers to make better decisions. With over 90% accuracy, Deep Planet can predict soil moisture, soil nitrogen, yield, crop/tree detection, organic/non-organic crop detection, deforestation and regeneration.

Supported by the University of Oxford and European Space Agency, Deep Planet is on a mission to advance state-of-the-art precision viticulture, applying scientifically proven research in AI to help growers and winemakers to make more efficient and more sustainable farming decisions.
