Incentivising farmers to improve their climate impact

Alejandro is Co-Founder and CEO of Soil Capital, an agronomy company that unlocks carbon payments for farmers.

Through Soil Capital Carbon - Europe's first certified, multi-national carbon payment programme - farmers earn new revenue for improving their climate impact.
With mySoilCapital, the digital platform underpinning the programme, farmers get the visibility they need to make changes that improve both their profitability and environmental impact together.

More than 600 farmers in France, the UK and Belgium are participating in Soil Capital Carbon and Soil Capital have already marketed around 30,000 tonnes of carbon improvements.

Alejandro recently won second place at the prestigious EIT Awards held during the EIT Summit in Brussels, Belgium, on 11th October 2022. The 9th edition of the EIT Awards brought together 27 outstanding innovators from 15 countries, competing across four categories: the CHANGE Award, Innovators Award, Venture Award and Women Leadership Award. Representing the EIT Food community in the Venture Award, which showcases startups and scaleups that have benefited from business acceleration and creation support by the EIT Community, was Alejandro.
