In the face of the climate emergency, breached planetary boundaries, biodiversity loss, water scarcity and soil depletion, environmental protection is critical.
Yet, we’ve all witnessed how recent transformational green policies launched by the government have been met with resistance, from farmers and citizens alike.
At a point where we all need to come together and rethink the solutions we need to put in place in order to tackle the environmental and social challenges linked to food production, we ask ourselves… How do we envision the future of farming in The Netherlands?
In this session, FoodUnfolded brings together farmers, policy makers, science journalists, consumer researchers and you, the public, to collectively explore the steps we need to take, in order to achieve a green transition that leaves nobody behind.
The afternoon will begin with the screening of the short film “Conversations with Young Farmers”, followed by a dialogue between Jolijn de Bruijn (Trotse Jonge Boeren) Nick van der Heijden (Province of Noord Brabant), science journalist and filmmaker Hidde Boersma, researcher, Durk Bosma (Future Food Institute) and you, the public.
And for those who want to stick around, there will also be a networking session in front of food and drinks.
A great opportunity to learn, to share your ideas and to contribute to shaping the future of farming in The Netherlands.
