The encounter, organised by EIT Food and AZTI with the collaboration of Vitartis, is addressed to national food SMEs. During the workshop, the results of the analysis carried out as part of the EIT Food SME Workshop 2019 project will be shown. These indetified the innovation barriers, challenges and needs of SMEs related to sustainable production.
Additionally, there will be a discussion around the trends and opportunities on sustainable food production. Assistants will also have the chance to listen to inspiring cases. Feltwood, which produces ecological industrial materials from plant fibres and Souji, which converts the used vegetable oil into soap in 1 minute will share their experiences. Conservas Serrats will talk about ecoeficiency and the adaptation of circular economy principles to the canned fish process. Ausolan will approach the evaluation system of local products for contract catering menues.
After the talks, a co-creation activity will be held. Participants will work on different current challenges in order to indetify new business opportunities and generate ideas and solutions for a sustainable and efficient food production.
