EIT Food speaking at Food Integrity 2021
EIT Food will be participating in a panel discussion on Friday 23 April. Innovation Programme Manager at EIT Food North-West, Mercedes Groba, will lead the session entitled, 'Food Innovation: Thinking Big and Bold!' The session will explore the following:
- A look into new age foods: Cultured meat, hybrid foods, insects, GMO
- Looking at the challenges and benefits – developing, cost, ethical considerations, consumer acceptance - and how we can overcome these hurdles
- Industry 4.0 and the rise of the rise of automation
- Progress so far and future forecasts
Mercedes will be joined by speakers from Manchester Metropolitan University, Good Food Institute, International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF) and others!

Queen's University Belfast at Food Integrity 2021
EIT Food Partners, Queen's University Belfast, will be hosting a workshop on day 3 of the event. The workshop, entitled, ''Fake News under a Microscope' will be presented by Chris Elliot, Professor of Food Safety and Founder of the Institute for Global Food Security (IGFS), Ciara Dean, Project Manager for the IGFS and Moira Dean, Professor of Consumer Psychology and Food Security.
