We need new ideas to help solve some of the toughest global challenges and to help transform the food system. Students are great creative thinkers, often giving different insights into possible solutions. That's why our programmes are designed to help them do just that.

Inspire programmes are 1-2 week long courses on entrepreneurship, the co-creation of entrepreneurial ideas, innovation and business creation principles and skills. Programmes are aimed at giving you a taste of entrepreneurship or to help accelerate your idea.

Future Food Ventures

Overview

Are you an aspiring or current entrepreneur? Are you passionate about improving the food sector and building a future that is truly sustainable

The Future Food Ventures programme, commencing 6th July, will provide a dynamic and supportive environment for you to explore your purpose, develop your entrepreneurial mindset and learn how you can transform your ideas into a business that can create real-life positive value.

Through self-guided sessions and real-time webinars and exercises led by experts in entrepreneurship, food and sustainability, you will be equipped with valuable skills, including: 

  • How to ideate for sustainable ideas
  • Formulating and articulating a value proposition
  • Building innovative and sustainable business models
  • Dealing with uncertainty and problem solving
  • Managing team dynamics and working with diverse groups

Dates

The programme will take place over 4 weeks starting 6th July, with 15 hours’ online contact time and 15 hours’ asynchronous learning time during that period.

REPAK - entrepreneurial summer school in packaging sustainability

Overview

The purpose of the summer school is to discuss the latest developments in sustainable food packaging, and train talent with a more holistic approach to food packaging business entrepreneurship.

This summer school responds to the needs of the new circular economy and create start-up ideas.This is an urgent need that requires tremendous collaborative efforts, in an environment still very fragmented, from municipalities recycling policies, to consumer demands, to technical challenges in supply chain and distribution, and of course, food quality and safety of the product. 

Dates

Online platform for the summer school will open July 25th, 2020.  

The bootcamp will start August 17, and final event will be held August 21, 2020.  The even will be held on line.  If travel restrictions will be lifted over the summer, the event will be held on site, at Aarhus University, in Denmark.

Transparent Food Supply Chains – Entrepreneurial Summer School

Overview

This summer school responds to the need to support a new circular economy and to develop new talent in the multidisciplinary issues related to transparent food value chains, and create start up ideas!  

The purpose of the summer school is to discuss the latest developments in digital systems that promote value chain linkages, and identify gaps and opportunities to build businesses solutions that would meet demands for transparency.  This entrepreneurial  School offers a unique, intensive immersion into the world of transparent food value chains. The school starts with an introductory on line platform,  and ends into a one week bootcamp. The participants, with diverse background will be generating and testing business ideas in the new reality of digitalization of food systems!

Dates

Online platform will open August 23, 2020

The bootcamp will be held September 7-11 in Siracusa,  Italy  (or online, if travel restrictions are in place at the time).

Entrepreneurship for food product and innovation

Overview

This Summer School offers a unique 20-day program that allows students to experience creative thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship against the backdrop of the food industry. The program utilises the flipped classroom concept and combines a web platform with unique content and an exciting intensive week program where students will get acquainted with professors, entrepreneurs and fellow students. The participants, with diverse background will be generating and testing concepts related to Climate Friendly Healthy Convenient Food Solutions. The summer school will bring new focus on tools and concepts for starting a new business in the sustainable food area, or creating new products within an existing company.

The in class program will be held in Aarhus, Denmark in August,  or on line, if travel restrictions will still be in place at the time.

INNOFOOD - Innovating Food Value Chain Innovations

Overview

Focusing on both the individual manager and product development teams, INNOFOOD guides participants to avoid costly mistakes, blind alleys and the loss of employee motivation that often impedes innovation performance.

Dates

This intensive and interactive learning week will take place between the 7th (first day of lecture) and the 11th (final day) of September. It will be held at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
