Seafarming Systems is a Norwegian based company developing closed and semi-closed floating fish farming systems that facilitates sustainable large scale growth in seafood production. The aquaculture systems improve fish welfare and working conditions, increase production, protect the oceans and their biodiversity, without increasing production costs. The Aquatraz, a semi-closed steel fish cage, has produced salmon since 2018 off the coast of Norway.
Competences & Capabilities
Seafarming Systems develops sustainable floating fish farming systems by repurposing engineering expertise from offshore oil and gas and combining it with knowledge in aquaculture. Designing and building floating constructions like the Aquantum Leap that can contain and produce up to 33.000 tonnes of salmon in a year, with abundant water exchange and systems that handles large amounts of live fish, requires great engineering and understanding of seafood production.
