The PTC Phage Technology Center is a German-based company focusing on the production and application of bacteriophages in the field of agriculture, aquaculture and food safety. The laboratory team is currently composed of four microbiologists, one bio-informatician and three technicians. Current areas of expertise are the bacterial pathogens Salmonella, Campylobacter, E. coli (ETEC, EHEC, ESBL) and Staphylococcus aureus. 

Competences & Capabilities 

In order to produce and purify the quantities of bacteriophages that are required for applications in the area of food safety, PTC developed a property owned platform technology that allows the scale-up and purification of any bacteriophage/host pair. The fermenter capacity to scale up the production in several steps, from 5 ml to 100 L, is available at the PTC premises, as is the filtration capacity to purify these quantities of product.
