Hosts:Â ADVANCING LIVESTOCK FOR CLIMATE (ALIVE4CLIMATE) COALITION, Organizers: Heifer International, EDF, ILRI, GIZ
This roundtable will convene representatives from government, funders, farmers and implementers in the sustainable livestock space to assess and discuss integration and implementation of livestock-related commitments in countries’ nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and broader funder-driven livestock programs.
Participants will learn from the experiences of countries that are incorporating livestock-related mitigation and adaptations strategies in their NDCs, as well as from notable interventions by global and institutional funders to address systemic climate-sustainability issues on farms and dairy and meat value chains.
Participants will share insights and identify challenges and opportunities for 1. Expanding livestock-focused commitments to more countries, and 2. Ensuring that commitments translate into practical action, backed by sufficient funding streams from climate/green donors, governments and multilateral donors
