The session aims to bring together strategic partners, WPO, UNIDO and FSSC to discuss a systemic
approach to sustainable food systems and impact on climate change. This event will focus on actionable
strategies to reduce food loss and waste (FLW) at both government and industry levels:
• Governmental level: Directing funds and shaping policies for projects targeting Sustainable
Food Systems and value chains and thus FLW reduction.
• Technical level: Building capacity, developing solutions and promoting sustainable growth in
food systems with measurable social and environmental impact.
The session will also highlight the critical role of packaging in sustainable food systems, including:
• Preserving food and extending shelf life
• Ensuring the health and safety of both the product & the consumer
• Minimising food loss and waste
• Facilitating market access
• Supporting marketing and branding initiatives
